When Russians Arrive - 1C

So you thought that we are through with Russians, that is, with the publishing avalanche coming to us from 1C Company? Well, think again, because today we take a look at the non-RPG portion of their E3 offer...

Rig'n'Roll:
And, in order to show you that 1C is really offering something for everyone, even to those of you that love a bit more exotic subgenres, we will finish this feature with a short look at a game called Rig'n'Roll, a truck-driving (and much more) simulation, coming to us from SoftLab-NSK.

Because there is so many long-distance truck-drivers amongst Russians there should be no doubt that this will be a realistic game - and it should find some good response from the driving simulation fans. the interesting thing is that it is set in the USA, to be more precise, on California desert highways that have been meticulously mapped and transferred into to the game to the last detail. the drivers will have a chance to drive under the searing sun, finding the best and the shortest routes in order to fulfill the norm and to set a record. But, driving big trucks is just the beginning - - Rig n Roll offers you the advancement of your truck-driving life in many ways! You can found and run you're own truck company, hire drivers and transport various cargo - just like some kind of a "truck tycoon" game, with the added bonus of personally getting into a truck, even in order to participate in truck-racing competitions! Add to that a plot, yes, a plot full of intrigue that will be reveled in a way reminiscent of adventure games, you get a very interesting genre hybrid that will have something to offer to many different gamers. The most important thing is for the developers to add all those elements together in such a way that he players can enjoy only a single aspect of the game if they prefer to - that means that those rare gamer that equally like to have an adventure, to drive a truck and to be a tycoon don't be the only ones that will buy this game, when it appears at the end of 2004.
